Skilled Workforce & Education

Nebraska’s highly skilled, educated and dedicated workforce is ready to help fill your solar businesses needs.  With an extensive community college and university system, you’ll find an outstanding workforce and readily accessible training programs.

senrg-logo-001.jpgThe University of Nebraska-Kearney is home to the Solar Energy and Nanoscience Research Group (SENRG) .  This group, in collaboration with engineers from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, is dedicated to the study and development of new nanocrystalline semiconductor materials.  These efforts focus on solvent-based preparations of materials with potential applications in high-efficiency photovoltaic solar cells, providing alternatives to the existing high-vacuum, commonly used techniques in the solar cell industry.

Nebraska is also dedicated to being head of the pack when working with solar energy.  The Nebraska Center for Energy Sciences Research, a collaboration between the Nebraska Public Power District and University of

Nebraska-Lincoln, conducts research on renewable energy sources, efficiency and conservation all while looking to expand economic opportunities and improve the overall quality of life.

saale.jpgNebraska experiences one of the nation’s highest ratio of teachers-to-pupils, and the rate of high school graduation is one of the best in the Nation. A greater proportion of Nebraska's high school students take and score higher on college aptitude tests such as ACT and SAT than the national average. Nebraska also supports successful student mentoring and school-to-career initiatives, giving students first-hand experience with many occupations while still in school. Nebraskans also believe in training and life-long learning, adding additional skills to our repertoire.
