Gov. Heineman Announces 100 New Jobs Coming to Chadron(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman announced a major business expansion coming to the community of Chadron. Local officials and business leaders joined the Governor in unveiling plans for the expansion of the Your Selling Team (YST) company, which is expected to create more than 100 jobs. Gov. Heineman said, "One hundred new jobs would be big news in a community of any size, and the fact that these jobs are coming to a community of 5,600 people stands to have a phenomenal, and we hope lasting impact on this community." The Governor was joined by Tom Gallaway, president and owner of YST in announcing the new project, which calls for the construction of a 10,000-sq. foot facility for a business-to-business call center in Chadron. Gallaway cited opportunities provided by the Nebraska Advantage and a technology-savvy workforce as reasons for the expansion in western Nebraska. Gallaway said, "I want to thank the Governor for his leadership, and the Nebraska Legislature for the passage of the Nebraska Advantage last fall. These incentives were a key factor in the decision to expand in Nebraska. The bill makes rural Nebraska more competitive and attractive to businesses, and combined with Nebraska's work ethic, I'm very anxious to continue creating jobs in rural Nebraska." Since the Nebraska Advantage jobs-creation economic incentive package took full effect on Jan. 1, 26 companies have applied for benefits with the potential to create more than 4,200 jobs and invest more than $496 million in business development, according to the Nebraska Department of Revenue. Other factors contributing to the decision to expand in Chadron include the approval of the Local Option Municipal Economic Development Act, authorizing incorporated cities and villages to use local tax dollars for economic development projects. The city of Chadron approved $250,000 in funding to assist in the project. Julie Younkin, Your Selling Team vice president, said, "The existing, skilled labor force in this area is key to our future plans, and we are very excited about the opportunity to add former call center employees, as well as Chadron State College students and graduates to our business operation." Gov. Heineman said, "Tom grew up in Nebraska, and while he left to pursue a career elsewhere, he has not forgotten the hardworking people of our state. I want to express my sincere thanks for all he's done to create jobs here in Nebraska."
