Conference to track emerging 21st century technologyLINCOLN, NEB. (June 15, 2006)—Whether used to track parcels from point A to Z, or employed in helping locate missing children, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is becoming one of the fastest growing, most vital technologies adopted by businesses and countries worldwide. Every field, from retail giants to local, state, and federal government entities are employing the technology for wide-ranging purposes. Even investors are supporting rapid, comprehensive development of RFID for purposes yet to be defined. To better inform people about these breakthrough discoveries, the “2006 Emerging RFID Technology & Applications Conference” will get underway August 4 at Bellevue University’s Main Campus, 1000 Galvin Road South. The conference will explore RFID technology and provide insight into a projected explosion of growth and uses during the next five years. From 8:30-9:30 a.m., Mark Ancona, president of Dataflo Consulting in Omaha, Neb., will take attendees through “RFID 101-Introduction to Radio Frequency Identification”. Dataflo is a leading provider of RFID-based data collection systems for many regional and national manufacturing, distribution and transportation companies. The company’s proprietary technology has grown and spun off into its own company, Digital Defense Group. At 9:15 a.m., Jeffrey D. Fee, deputy division chief with Logistics Transformation Agency (LTA) will speak on “RFID and Military Applications.” Fee has more than 30 years experience with the Department of Defense.In his current position, he is project lead for Sense and Respond Logistics in the LTA, which is a Field Operating Agency of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G4 (Logistics). From 10:30-11:30 a.m., J. Cotty England, MCSE, MCDBA, founder and president of Odyssey RFID LLC, an RFID enabling platform provider, based in Cincinnati, Ohio, will discuss “RFID and the Art of Integration.” England shares a unique “end user perspective on RFID deployment, management and process control. An 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. lunch will feature keynote speaker Denton Clark, AIT manager and leader of Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) Integrated Process Team (IPT) for Lockheed Martin Corp. Clark is responsible for supporting AIDC development and implementation throughout the corporation. His team works closely with the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Defense Logistics Agency in developing and implementing Passive RFID technology in compliance with the Defense Department’s Passive RFID initiative. From 2-3 p.m., participants will hear from Dave Davison, Midwest regional sales engineer with Escort Memory Systems, whose talk will focus on “RFID in Manufacturing-RFID and Closed Loop Applications.” Davison has more than 23 years experience in the electronic industry. At 3:30 p.m., Erick C.
