Nebraska featured on Rachael Ray Show
LINCOLN, Neb. (Sept. 20, 2006) – On Wednesday, September 20, hundreds of thousands of people watching Rachael Ray’s new talk show on ABC saw a segment featuring Nebraska.
Wednesday’s show introduced Rachael Ray to pitchfork steaks from Calamus Outfitters located in the Sandhills. The ranch is well-known for their unique way of preparing a steak by cooking it in a vat of boiling oil, which seals in the flavor of their Nebraska beef.
Rachael Ray currently has four shows on the Food Network that reach an average of eighteen million viewers each week. Ray is also the author of 16 cookbooks, editor of her own magazine and has a line of cookware.
“When Rachael Ray’s producers contacted us about providing segments showcasing unique and quirky things to experience in the state, we were thrilled,” said Christian Hornbaker, director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel and Tourism Division. “We understood that this was a great opportunity for us to show hundreds of thousands of viewers some of the great things they can find in Nebraska. Rachael Ray is extremely popular, and getting this free publicity to reach her loyal viewers means a great deal for tourism in this state.”
The Nebraska Travel and Tourism Division has completed additional segments that will air during the Rachael Ray Show this fall.
