LINCOLN, NEB. (October 2, 2006)—To remain competitive, companies are expanding their business into international markets.
Yet, many more rules, regulations and issues apply to selling and marketing products internationally compared with the U.S. For example, how does one develop a niche market in Brazil or Japan? Should products be shipped by air, ocean, or rail? Are product payments safe and secure?
“Going Global 101: The Basics of Exporting”, is a workshop designed to cover all aspects of exporting. Presenters Susan Rouch, director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Office of International Trade and Investment; Meredith Bond, director of the U.S. Commercial Service Export Assistance Center; Laura Pedersen, global banking officer with First National Bank; Terry McMullen, managing director of TLK Air Care Inc.; and Kent Johnson, business development manager of CargoZone LLC will cover:

• How to locate and manage in-country sales representatives, distributors and others
• International payment terms
