LINCOLN, NEB. (October 11, 2006)—Public hearings in November will focus on the Proposed 2007 Annual Action Plan, which involves the distribution of approximately $13 million Community Development Block Grant, $5 million HOME program, and $588,000 Emergency Shelter Grant Program funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (authorized under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended).
The plan also includes distribution of $1.5 million in Homeless Shelter Assistance Trust funds, and $9 million in Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust funds.
All above funding is administered through the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED).
Copies of the plan, which describe national and state objectives, application schedules, eligible activities, and selection criteria for projects, will be available at public meetings.
