Trade mission opens doors to expanding markets in Japan (October 16, 2006) PDF Print E-mail

LINCOLN, NEB. (October 16, 2006)—Individuals interested in developing or expanding opportunities for their businesses in Japan are encouraged to join Lt. Governor Rick Sheehy and a group of Nebraska business, medical and agricultural representatives as they embark on a trade mission there, November 26-December 2.

The Nebraska delegation is tentatively scheduled to visit the Kobe/Osaka area, Shizuoka and Tokyo. While in Tokyo, the Lt. Governor will be celebrating the grand opening of the Nebraska Center, the state’s new international business office.

Participants’ information and itineraries will correlate with their specific fields of interest. The Nebraska departments of Economic Development and Agriculture, U.S. Commercial Service, U. S. Foreign Agricultural Service, Japan External Trade Organization, and Midwest U.S.-Japan Association are working to combine resources and arrange meetings with potential Japanese business partners and industry associations. Japanese government officials and representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce and Foreign Agricultural Service also will be available to answer questions and discuss concerns.
