Rural Nebraska funding opportunities explored at January workshop (December 19, 2006) PDF Print E-mail

LINCOLN, NEB. (December 19, 2006)—People interested in learning about ways to fund projects in rural Nebraska may want to register for a January 9 workshop. January 3 is the registration deadline for the workshop, to be held from 2-5 p.m. CST.

The free workshop will feature:

· Building Entrepreneurial Communities grant application information (the next grant deadline is February 9).

· Nebraska Advantage program information (as it relates to rural and micro enterprise businesses).

· Nebraska Community Capital Fund, New Markets Tax Credits, and New Markets Tax Credits Business Loans information.

The workshop will be telecast to the following locations (subject to change based on the number of registrations received per site):

·Ainsworth—Public Library, 5th and Main Streets

·Beatrice—Beatrice State Development Center, 3000 Lincoln Blvd., Medical Center Conf. Rm. #2

·Chadron—Chadron State College, 10th and Main Sts., Student Center, Scottsbluff Room

·Columbus—Public Library, 2504 14th St., Columbus Room, Second Floor

·Hastings—Public Library, 517 W. 4th St., Second Floor

·Kearney—Public Library, 2020 First Ave., Second Floor

·Lincoln—Nebraska Educational Telecommunications, 1800 N. 33rd St., First Floor Board Room

·Norfolk—Northeast Community College, 801 E. Benjamin Ave., Maclay Bldg., Rm. 122

·North Platte—Educational Service Unit #16, 1221 W. 17th Street, Distance Learning Room

·Omaha—State Office Building, 1313 Farnam St., Rm. 207

·O’Neill—Avera St. Anthony’s Hospital, 2nd and Adams Sts., Conference Rm., Lower Level

·Scottsbluff—UNL Panhandle Research & Extension Center, 4502 Avenue I, High Plains Room

·Wayne—Wayne State College, 1111 Main St., Gardner Hall, Rm. 105

People who are registered at sites that are canceled will be contacted before January 3, and given the opportunity to register at an alternative site.

The workshops are sponsored and led by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development and Nebraska Rural Development Commission.
