LINCOLN, NEB. (December 21, 2006)—Local government officials interested in seeking Community Development Block Grant funding in 2007 in the categories of public works, water/wastewater, planning, and/or tourism development are encouraged to personally attend or send staff to an upcoming January workshop. The registration deadline for the free workshop is January 12.
The workshop will be offered:
•January 17, 9 a.m.-Noon (CT), Kearney, University of Nebraska Ockinga Center, 905 W. 25th St.
•January 18, 8 a.m.-11 a.m. (MT), Gering, Civic Center, 1050 M St.
•January 23, 9 a.m.-Noon (CT) Lincoln, NE State Office Bldg., 301 Centennial Mall S., Lower Level B
•January 25, 9 a.m.-Noon (CT), Norfolk, Lifelong Learning Center, 801 E. Benjamin Ave.
Staff from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development will share information and answer questions about the application preparation and submission process, which includes eligible planning and community development activities for 2007.
Individuals registering in advance for the Kearney workshop will be mailed parking passes. Parking is free and available at the Gering and Norfolk sites. Metered parking is located around the State Office Building in Lincoln, or at nearby parking garages at 13th and M Streets, or 14th and N Streets.
