LINCOLN, NEB. (January 31, 2007)—Everything you ever wanted to know about administering HOME and Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) programs is the focus of training scheduled March 12-15 at North Platte’s Holiday Inn Express. Staff from the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s (DED) Community and Rural Development Division will lead the sessions.
Registration will get underway Monday, March 12, 1-1:30 p.m., followed by an administrative overview and information on contract requirements and procurement.
On Tuesday morning, participants will learn about the administrative requirements, and set-ups, drawing funds and budgeting changes for the Homebuyer Program and Homeowner Rehabilitation Program. Tuesday afternoon’s concurrent sessions include administrative requirements of the Rental Program, along with set-ups, drawing funds, budget changes and property management, and a focus group on the Department’s updated rehabilitation standards.
On Wednesday, DED staff will focus on environmental review, program income, the designation process of Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO), relocation, and income verification.
Training will wrap up on Thursday with overviews of reporting requirements, financial record keeping, monitoring, the closeout process, and how to avoid repayment.
