LINCOLN, NEB. (March 6, 2007)—Sarah Baker has been hired as media relations coordinator for the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s (DED) Travel and Tourism Division.
Baker will work with the media, including travel writers, and with tourism industry leaders across the state to promote Nebraska's travel and tourism industry.
“We are excited to have Sarah as part of our staff,” said Christian Hornbaker, director of DED’s Travel and Tourism Division. “She comes to the position with fresh ideas, experience in public relations, marketing and journalism, and unparalleled enthusiasm for the job.”
Previously, Baker worked as a marketing assistant at the Lund Company in Omaha. She continues to work as a freelance writer for a number of publications.
A native Nebraskan, Baker received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, with a focus on News Editorial from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her background is in newspaper journalism, freelance writing, and editing.
