For over 40 years the Nebraska Diplomats have been the largest economic development organization in the State of Nebraska.  Our organization is comprised of business leaders from across the State with one unified mission: growth of the Nebraska economy through support of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development's efforts to assist with expansion of existing business, attraction of new business to the State, and improvement in Nebraska's business climate and competitiveness.

I am honored to serve as President of the Nebraska Diplomats for 2009.  We are fortunate to have a dedicated and talented Board of Directors and a progressive engaged membership that works tirelessly on behalf of Nebraska.

Nebraska Diplomats are called upon to assist in generating and hosting new business prospects for Nebraska and making calls on existing businesses in our communities. In addition, the membership of the Nebraska Diplomats, through a number of events held throughout the year, benefit from interaction with other business leaders from across the State. [click on Events for more information].

The Diplomats serve as an important link between the public and private sector, creating a partnership yielding great success as seen in the passage of the Nebraska Advantage Act , and the creation of the Certified Community Program. We are always looking for additional Nebraska business leaders to help spread the message of Nebraska as a good place to live and do business.  I encourage you to consider becoming a Nebraska Diplomat, and working to help Nebraska grow and prosper!  Please contact me, a Board member, a Diplomat in your region, or Lori Shaal at the Department of Economic Development to join.   We look forward to working with you to help Nebraska prosper!

If you are already a member, we thank you for your participation in the Nebraska Diplomats.  Nebraska's business leaders are making a difference for generations to come.  I look forward to a successful year for the Nebraska Diplomats.

Sincerely,
