Visit Nebraska Week is May 12-20
LINCOLN, NEB. (May 7, 2007)—Nebraskans are known for being friendly to visitors, doing what they can to make “out-of-towners” feel right at home. During Visit Nebraska Week, May 12-20, hotel, motel and bed and breakfast owners are some of the most important people who can spread the word about what Nebraska has to offer.
Hoteliers are urged to let guests and tourists on the road alike know it’s “Visit Nebraska Week” by advertising the event on their marquee signs, Web sites, or in other marketing materials.
“In-state travel is becoming more and more popular,” said Christian Hornbaker, director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel and Tourism Division. “Visit Nebraska Week offers a perfect opportunity for some of our most important tourism partners – hotel owners – to educate guests and spread the word about state tourism.”
Visit Nebraska Week gives state residents and visitors the opportunity not only to explore what the state has to offer, but to gain a better understanding of the importance of tourism: It’s a major U.S. industry and also contributes to the country’s cultural and social fabric. The week takes place at the same time as National Tourism Week, an annual event organized by the Travel Industry of America.
