(South Sioux City, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman traveled to South Sioux City today where he presented city officials with a check for $253,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds that will go toward the creation of 10 full-time jobs as part of an expansion of Lite-Form Technologies, LLC, a manufacturer of poured-in-place concrete building systems.

"South Sioux City continues to demonstrate its progressive attitude and I'm very pleased to assist in bringing new jobs to the area," Gov. Heineman said. "I identified economic vitality as a top priority of my administration during my State of the State address yesterday and today I am pleased to begin following through on that promise."

Of the 10 new jobs, at least six will go to low and moderate income persons. The company will use $250,000 to purchase equipment that allows it to manufacture foam and plastic parts used in constructing forms. Previously, the company purchased its foam and plastic parts from another company. The remaining $3,000 will be available to South Sioux City for loan-related administrative costs.

An additional $250,000 in private financing applied to the purchase of equipment, and $100,000 working capital from Lite-Form Technologies will complete the project. Lite-Form Technologies, LLC, has been in business since 1986. The expansion will enable the company to manufacture concrete building systems onsite, thereby improving and streamlining the overall manufacturing process.

The project is part of a program directed by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development, which assists with the development of businesses and communities throughout the state. Federal funds are made available to Nebraska from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's CDBG program.
