$146,600 to boost homeownership in Scotts Bluff County (March 10) PDF Print E-mail

LINCOLN, NEB. (March 10, 2005)--The Nebraska Department of Economic Development has awarded $146,600 in Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Funds to Western Nebraska Housing Opportunities, a nonprofit organization located in Gering, to implement a direct homebuyer assistance program for individuals, couples, or families who are interested in purchasing homes in Scotts Bluff County. The funding is part of the Nebraska Affordable Housing Program's goal to expand housing opportunities for residents in Nebraska's Western Investment Zone.

Western Nebraska Housing Opportunities will construct new homes within Scotts Bluff County that are available to homebuyers who are eligible based on income levels and program guidelines.

The program's objective is to provide financial assistance to low- and moderate-income persons and families through a combination of gap subsidy, down payment, and closing cost assistance, helping ensure the purchase of safe, decent, sanitary and affordable single- family residential units.
