LINCOLN, NEB. (November 29, 2005)—Kori Wendt of Columbus has been named to the nine-member Nebraska Tourism Advisory Committee by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel and Tourism Division.
Wendt is general manager of the New World Inn & Conference Center in Columbus.
She spent 10 years with Hyatt Resorts & Hotel in Colorado and has six years experience as a general manager. The 37-year-old Wendt grew up in Colorado and Wyoming and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the University of Wyoming at Laramie.
“Nebraska has a lot to offer travelers,” Wendt said. “I’m excited to be part of the Tourism Advisory Committee to help increase awareness about the great things there are to see and do here.”
Dan Curran, director of the Nebraska Tourism Division, said Wendt’s experience in the hotel industry and her enthusiasm for Nebraska make her a valuable member of the Tourism Advisory Committee. “I’m sure that Kori’s contributions to the committee will help us in our efforts to market Nebraska to travelers,” Curran said.
The Nebraska Tourism Advisory Committee meets quarterly with Travel and Tourism Division staff to offer input and suggestions about tourism marketing and programs.
