Village of Brock receives $250,000 in CDBG funding for improvements to wastewater system (July 19) PDF Print E-mail

LINCOLN, NEB. (July 19, 2007)— The village of Brock (pop. 162) has been awarded $250,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for a public works project to update components of its local wastewater system.    The project includes constructing a third sewer lagoon cell, relining the existing two lagoons, replacing riprap (rock-like material) to control erosion, upgrading a lift station, and improving the sewer line. The village also has received $108,700 funding from the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality to complete the project.     Administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED), Nebraska receives an annual allocation of CDBG funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development

The application and grant process is a partnership of DED, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality and the Nebraska Health and Human Services System.
