LINCOLN, NEB. (August 10, 2007)—The Nebraska Department of Economic Development will conduct a public comment period from August 22–September 6, 2007, for citizens and local government officials interested in providing input about the Nebraska Consolidated Plan’s 2006 Proposed Annual Performance Report (APR).
Public review and comment should relate to the following activities that occurred July 1, 2006-June 30, 2007, as part of the 2006 program year:

The Department’s performance of its community development, economic development, planning, housing and homeless objectives;

The distribution and use of approximately $12 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, $5 million in HOME funds, $600,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant funds, $2 million from the Homeless Shelter Assistance Trust Fund, and $10 million from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund, including the amounts used for activities benefiting persons of low and moderate income; and
-
The state’s performance in minimizing displacement of persons because of its CDBG activities and the state’s provision of assistance to persons displaced because of such activities.
