Gov. Heineman Awards $350,000 Community Development Grant to Falls City PDF Print E-mail

(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman has awarded Falls City $350,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to assist Vantec, Inc. with an expansion of business operations. The grant is expected to help create 25 new full-time positions.

“I’m pleased this grant will be going to help a relatively new business make improvements and expand in Falls City,” Gov. Heineman said. “I attended the announcement that Vantec was coming to this Nebraska community several weeks ago and I’m pleased to offer my congratulations to city officials on the new business development taking place in Falls City.”

Vantec is a plastic injection molding company based in Webster City, Iowa. The CDBG funding will help finance its expansion to Nebraska. The company recently purchased a speculative building for its new manufacturing division, and expects to invest an additional $3.6 million in equipment and building modifications.

Federal funds are made available to Nebraska from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s CDBG program, which assists businesses and communities throughout the state. The program is administered by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
