The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) will conduct a public comment period August 22 – September 8, 2008 to take remarks of citizens and local government officials regarding the Nebraska Consolidated Plan’s 2007 Proposed Annual Performance Report (APR).
This document allows public review and comment on the following activities, which report on the program year conducted July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008:
- The Department’s performance of its community and economic development, planning, housing and homeless objectives.
- Distribution and use of approximately $12 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds, $5 million in HOME funds, $600,000 in Emergency Shelter Grant funds, $2 million from the Homeless Shelter Assistance Trust Fund, and $10 million from the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund, including the amounts used for activities benefiting persons of low and moderate income.
- The state’s performance in minimizing displacement of persons because of its CDBG activities and the state’s provision of assistance to persons displaced because of such activities.
Several opportunities to view and comment on the proposed Annual Performance Report will be offered. The proposed APR will be available August 22 on the Department’s website at: http://www.neded.org/content/view/218/430/.
