Tourism expert will share tips for drawing travelers in tight economy
LINCOLN, NEB. (Sept. 16, 2008)—Staying afloat in tough economic times is challenging for professionals in any industry. This year at the 33rd Annual Nebraska Travel Conference, Dr. Peter Tarlow, founder of Tourism and More and an expert on tourism and economic development will share strategies and skills to keep your business profitable.
In his two-part presentation, “When the Market is Tight and the Economy is Slow and Making Tourism Profitable,” attendees will learn how to develop a tourism business strategy by understanding who your customers are and what they want, who should and should not be a customer and why travelers should choose your community as a vacation destination.
The Nebraska Travel Conference, hosted by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development’s Travel and Tourism Division, will take place at the Kearney Ramada Inn and Conference Center, 301 S. 2nd Ave., October 22-23.
The conference includes educational workshops, general sessions and networking opportunities, as well as travel industry exhibitor booths displaying essential new products. Attendees can also participate in the Nebraska Travel Association’s Silent Auction, a fundraiser that will benefit tourism activities throughout Nebraska.
