Infrastructure

A business is only as successful as the infrastructure on which it is built or heavily relies upon, and all evidence points to Nebraska as a state that takes its role seriously when it comes to maintaining and building quality, dependable infrastructure.

The state has an excellent matrix of roadways, including the east-west giant, I-80, another key north-south route, I-29, and many four- and two-lane routes that deliver goods and services within a couple days in the contingent U.S.

Boasting the only publicly-owned utilities in the nation, Nebraska supplies abundant gas and electric service, and is constantly working on providing alternative energy in the form of wind, solar and geothermal.

Providing the right specified structures for the right businesses also is a high priority and businesses often find these readily available for moving in and setting up shop.

Talent & Innovation Initiative (TI2)

One of the most important accomplishments of the 2011 legislative session was the passage of several bills focused on creating new momentum for developing and attracting businesses rooted in technology and innovation—Talent and Innovation Initiative. The Nebraska Department of Economic Development is in the early stages of implementation of the initiative and additional information on each program can be found here as it becomes available.
