"Family refers to the Census definition of a family, which is a householder with one or more other persons living in the same household who are related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption. The definition of family excludes one-person households."
The 1999 median family income is the starting point for subsequent HUD estimates of income. "Median income reports the midpoint in the ranked distribution of income.  . . . Family income is the sum of the income for all family members 15 years old and over."
These numbers are estimates that HUD is required to produce as part of administering its housing programs.
Equal to the Omaha MSA estimate, which includes Cass, Douglas, Sarpy, and Washington Counties in Nebraska and Pottawattamie County in Iowa.  1999 median income is actual county Census figure, not the Omaha MSA figure.
Equal to the Sioux City MSA estimate, which includes Dakota & Dixon Counties in Nebraska, Woodbury County in Iowa, and Union County in So. Dak.
