Sartoria Buffalo Historic - Sartoria, 28 miles from Kearney, was founded by John Swenson. He opened a post office in 1880. By 1888 the Sartoria Independent carried ads for a pharmacy, doctor, dining hall, barbar, stone mason, attorney, billiard parlor, farm implements dealer, hardware store, and general store. The town also had a library, bank, church and school house, even a car dealer. The Freighters Hotel building was used as a family residence for a number of years and has since been moved into Kearney where it is on display at the Trails and Rails Museum.
