$319,164 awarded to Southeast Nebraska Affordable Housing Council, Inc. PDF Print E-mail

JULY 11, 2012 (LINCOLN, NEB.)—The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $319,164 HOME funding to Southeast Nebraska Affordable Housing Council, Inc., (SENAHC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Lincoln, Neb., to undertake a Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program.  

Eleven homeowners earning at or below 80 percent of the median area income and living in communities and rural areas of Seward and Lancaster counties, with potential rollover into Saunders, Butler and Polk counties will receive services that may include bringing homes up to electrical, safety, and construction codes; lead paint abatement; roofing, siding, windows, painting, heating, insulation, and some interior remodeling.  

Partners in the project may include the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Lincoln Action Program, Southeast Nebraska Community Action and Blue Valley Community Action.  

SENAHC recently completed projects under a Regional Housing Rehabilitation Program, and projects for Purchase, Rehabilitation, and Resale of homes in a multi-county area.
