JULY 9, 2012 (LINCOLN, NEB.)—The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has awarded $79,791 in HOME Funds to Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation (SWNCBC), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Grant, Neb., to continue its Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) Program.
Three homeowners earning at or below 80 percent of the area median income and living in Dundy and Hayes counties will receive services that may include bringing homes up to electrical, safety, and construction codes; lead paint abatement; roofing, siding, windows, painting, heating, insulation, and some interior remodeling.
SWNCBC is partnering with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, Mid Nebraska Community Action Agency, and Assistive Technology Partnership.
Since 2000, SWNCBC has helped 134 homeowners living in Perkins, Chase, Dundy, Hitchcock and Hayes counties to ensure the safety and affordability of their homes via the Regional Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) program.
